Thornfield Farm produces and sells vegetables and flowers locally grown in southwest Virginia.

We sell our vegetables and flowers at local farmers markets, to restaurants and grocers, and through our farm share program. We’ve designed a convenient “debit-style” farm share program and online farm store. By subscribing to our farm share costumers get their choice of all our produce and a 10% additional value for supporting the farm.

WHERE CAN YOU FIND US?

Right here! Shop online, visit the farm, or come see us in Roanoke or at Community School in Hollins. We want to make buying our produce as convenient for you as possible. You can order anytime online and pick up at our farm stands three times a week. Let us know where else you’d like to see us; we’re always looking for more ways to engage with our community.

Four Oaks Farms is a small family owned business doing one thing, growing and marketing high quality gourmet lettuce and other leaf crops, including microgreens, herbs and other vegetables.  This will be done in a controlled environment greenhouse operation utilizing the most recent technology in a 100% soilless hydroponic growing system.  We will focus our marketing to the local area (within 75 to 100 mile radius of the farm) so that you the consumer can have access to the freshest possible vegetables.  It is our intent to be known as the producer of the highest quality produce available.

Our Mission

Four Oaks Farms will grow and provide a safe, superior quality, fresh, vine ripened, locally grown produce to consumers in the surrounding area.

Since we grow pick and distribute our products you can be assured that it is:

Ikenberry Orchards is a family owned and operated business. We have been fruit growers in Botetourt County for 100 years and hope to continue to serve you for years to come!Spring- We have a greenhouse fully stocked with annuals, perinnals, hanging baskets and a variety of unusual planters. We will custom plant in containers for you! Open April, May and June. Mums are available in the fall. Farmer’s Market every saturday!Summer- This is the time to visit for fresh fruits and vegetables! We have the most delicious peaches, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers and white sweet corn that keeps you coming back for more! Summer cooking apples are here! Farmer’s Market every saturday!Fall- Apples are ripe and frost is on the pumpkins. All of our fall apples are harvested in September and October. Come choose your pumpkins, gourds, decorative corn, apple butter, preserves, jellies and honey. Country hams, nut and candies are here for your enjoyment. Also, this is when our corn maze is up and running! Farmer’s Market until end October through Early November.

Holidays- Christmas trees, wreaths and greenery roping are available the end of November through the 23rd of December.

Misty Meadows Produce

Misty Meadows in on 3033 Brambleton Ave close to the Coffee Pot. Nicolas Karim purchases produce from local producers and sells it out of his storefront. He knows everyone he buys from and produces some of his own produces as well. Nice folks! Also a great place to purchase a Christmas tree.

Idlewild Farm

IdleWild Farm is a GMO-free farm that produces eggs from free range hens, pastured poultry, pastured and forested pork of Berkshire, Large Black, and Tamworth breeds, salad mix, and surplus vegetables and mushrooms from our family garden. We employ no-till, no – spray gardening methods that improve instead of deplete the soil. Building soil is one of our main goals and jobs as farmers.

We process our chickens on the farm. Check our website for upcoming dates when you can pickup a fresh chickens. We raise chickens February – November to ensure there is plenty of live food available for them to forage. In February before spring hits, we give the chicks access to the greenhouse where there is plenty of live food to eat. You can purchase our products at the Forest Farmer’s Market, The Well (in Bedford), and on the farm.
